Jaclyn Champagne Terranova: Healthcare Chaplaincy

Jaclyn Champagne Terranova is currently the Director of Pastoral Care at Sanctuary Holy Cross Long Term Care and Rehabilitation and was formerly Research Assistant with the Hillebrand Center for Compassionate Care in Medicine. She will talk about being a healthcare chaplain.

Jaclyn Champagne Terranova studied psychology and deaf studies at College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. After her undergraduate studies, Jaclyn completed a year of service with the Jesuit Volunteer Corp in San Diego CA and later served as a professional advocate for women and children in situations of domestic violence through the Children's Hospital of Boston. Jaclyn pursued graduate studies through the School of Theology and Ministry at Boston College where she earned a Masters of Pastoral Ministry. After graduate school, Jaclyn completed her professional training in hospital chaplaincy through the Clinical Pastoral Education program (CPE) at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT. Jaclyn shifted her focus to hospice chaplaincy and served as the Spiritual Care Coordinator for Acera Care Hospice until she moved to South Bend, IN. After arriving in South Bend, Jaclyn accepted a position as a Research Assistant and Program Coordinator in the Hillebrand Center for Compassionate Care at Notre Dame. Jaclyn is now the Director of Pastoral Care at Sanctuary Holy Cross Long Term Care and Rehabilitation Center in South Bend. Some of you may know Jaclyn as the only female resident of Keenan Hall, where she lives with her husband, Keenan's rector, Noel Terranova.
