As the Director of the Hillebrand Center for Compassionate Care in Medicine, Dr. Dominic Vachon studies the biology and neuroscience of empathy, compassion, and burnout in the health care professions. He teaches future physicians and nurses about how compassion improves not only the care provided to patients but also the well-being of the health care provider.
